Specialist in Periodontics
Dr Savage is on the specialist list for Periodontics (gum therapy) as recognised by the General Dental Council.
He graduated from Edinburgh University in 1992 and started his career as a general dental practitioner with the Royal Air Force. He completed the Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies at Bristol University before rejoining the RAF in 2001. Dr Savage started specialist training at the Eastman Dental Institute and successfully achieved the MClinDent in Periodontology in addition to the MRD from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2007. He was then appointed as Clinical Director of the Military School of Dental Training and served as an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh). He was also project supervisor for the University of Kent MSc in Primary Dental Care.
Dr Savage is passionate about the control of periodontal (gum) disease and cosmetic gum procedures. His favourite areas of gum therapy are the more advanced periodontal plastic surgical treatments, such as gum and bone grafts, soft tissue augmentation and crown lengthening. Together these techniques help his patients achieve the healthiest and most attractive smile possible.
