Skjalg Johnsen, DDS PhD
Specialist in Orthodontics
Dr Johnsen graduated from the Dental School of the Karolinska Institute of Stockholm, Sweden in 2000. Following his graduation he worked for five years in private practice whilst continuing his academic research, gaining a PhD in 2005. He then began his specialist postgraduate training in orthodontics at the Eastman Institute in Stockholm, gaining his specialist degree in 2008. He moved to the UK one year later where he currently lives and works.
Dr Johnsen is keen on using modern "invisible" orthodontic systems such as Invisalign, Damon braces and Incognito, and especially enjoys seeing the transformation that orthodontic treatment can achieve for all different age groups. In particular he likes the challenge of treating patients who have had an earlier course of orthodontic treatments in their teens that has left them with an unsatisfactory result.
Dr Johnsen is on the specialist list in Orthodontics as recognised by the General Dental Council.
